Surprise!

A great friend watched my son one day so my daughter and I could have mommy/daughter date. Well, I wanted to tell her how much I appreciated it so I gave her this little gift! Inside there was a little note and some headbands that I had made. But the coolest part was the packaging! So, I used a can, one from fruit because it was easier to get clean. Instead of popping the top yourself you use a can opener and open the bottom. So, after it is clean you put your little gift in there and use some hot glue on the bottom then decorate!! I also cut matching paper to cover up the glue a little on the bottom. SO CUTE and easy too!

Vinyl....it isn't out after all!!

I have had so much fun with vinyl lately. I did some Mother's Day gifts and then I finished a sign that I have been working on for awhile now. So, for the sign I bought the base for $6 at Garden Ridge...it had a SUPER ugly picture on it but I knew that I was going to paint over it. Then I used various cricut cartridges with Cricut craftroom, cut out the letters and palced them. I would have probably made the letters a bit bigger but I think it looks okay. Cricut craft room was a great because I was able to save a lot of vinyl. The buckets were purchased along with the chalk board garden markers in the dollar bin at Target and I added some photos to the outside, used a styrofoam ball and pinned ribbon to it for the inside. They were for my mom and sister for Mother's day! I did use vinyl to write on them since I hate my writing! The acrylic tumblers and candles were purchased on clearance at Gordmans for $3 each and I added the vinyl to them as well. Super fun gifts...I think! I hope they don't look as cheap as they were! FUN STUFF!! AND you are probably wondering where I found the SUPER fun colors of vinyl!! A sign store! I just went into a store that does vinyl signs and asked if I could buy some fun colors! They were $1/square foot! GREAT DEAL!!

Crafting to stay BUSY

Since Bill has been gone I have been crafting quite a bit....here are a few of the most recent projects.... So this started out as a junk store find...well I saw the idea on pinterest.
So I sprayed it with primer and then painted it. I taped off the handle and hinges cause I didn't know what color I wanted them. Then I used mod poge and cut out parts of the fabric and put them on the outside. On the inside I used some foam and made little slip covers for it and made a new camera strap to match!! Now it is my fun little camera box! I like it. Not for traveling but fun for at home or car trips! I like how it turned out!
Fun cape for my cute little Vollen's birthday!!
